Hotels

Miami 's most recognizable icons are the art deco hotels of South Beach. They truly are some of the world's most beautiful and stylish buildings.

In the 1920s, Miami Beach established itself as Amesrica's Winter Playground. It was a haven for out-of-town high rollers, long before Las Vegas got the idea.

The Art Deco style came about in the 1930s when middle class tourists fueled a second boom.

It wouldn't do for Miami to open the same type of boring, staid hotels found across America. En masse, architects decided the motif of choice would be…art deco.

Book Now

We strongly urge you book your hotel rooms as soon as possible.

April is a very busy time in ever popular South Beach and many hotels have already been sold out for months.

Basic Hotel Shopping Advice

  • Like New York, space is at a premium and there may be some sticker shock. You get what you pay for though, we're celebrating in Miami's coveted South Beach and not some boring cheap hotel zip code :-) We look forward to enjoying this festive atmosphere with all of you!
  • We like a bargain as much as anyone, but we do suggest paying a bit extra to ensure your comfort. Be aware that any extreme bargain is likely a haven for very loud patrons who have come to Miami for the all night club scene. There are also hotels that don't enforce high cleanliness standards. Especially if you are very picky, pay up for this trip. Come on, you only live once anyway!
  • If quiet is your priority, don't hesitate to request a room on a quieter floor.  It may be easier to find a quiet hotel at a lower rate outside of South Beach (i.e. Miami proper), but that will incur car rental and parking or taxi fees.

A great resource for customer reviews of hotels is www.tripadvisor.com I find in general that the negative reviews can be a bit more extreme than reality though. Keep in mind the customer's expectation vs. reaction; some people clearly expected $150 in Miami to be the same hotel they'd get for $150 in Boise, Idaho.
